Local Attractions and Links

Lincoln is a vibrant city, steeped in history and with many attractions and events to enjoy. When you’ve looked round the magnificent Cathedral and Castle you can take a walk from Castle Square down Steep Hill, with its abundance of historic buildings, quirky individual shops, tea rooms,  pubs and restaurants to Lincoln’s High Street.  You might like to have a stroll round the lively and picturesque Brayford Pool area which is opposite the university and which buzzes with restaurants and bars and also has a multiplex cinema.  Lincoln’s busy calendar includes events such as the Lincoln 10K Road Race in April, Lincoln Book Festival and the Lincoln Grand Prix Cycle race in May, the Lincolnshire Agricultural Show in June, the Brayford Waterfront festival, the Lincoln and Lincolnshire Chamber Music Festival in August, the Asylum Steam Punk Festival in August, the Tastes of Lincolnshire Sausages Festival in October and of course the famous Lincoln Christmas Market in early December.  There are also regular farmers’, artists’ and craft markets.
